Live TV / Arabic Movies

was trying to collect some online movie list, but it is not that easy, so I built my own live TV XML, if you need help, let me know
 

You need to install LiveStream

 Step 1: goto system setting

Step 2: Addons

 Step 3: Install from zip file

 Step 4: Locate the plugin.video.live.stream-1.1.2.zip that you downloaded

 Step 5:Goto Addons

 

 Step 6: right click on LiveStream

 Step 7:Click Config

 

Step 8:  use an xml, sample here  that you downloaded, contact me if you are interested or simply build your XML :)

 Step 9: start the plugin, locate VOD

 Step 10: enjoy :)

Install a repo or plugin from zip file

to Install a repo or plugin from zip file you need the zip file for the plugin or repo located in a assessable folder.

then Install the downloaded zip file by going to "System > Addons > Install a ZIP file", select the file and click Install.

 Installation

Controlling Openelec with TV Remote

If you want to control your openelec installation using your TV remote via HDMI connector, your TV need to have HDMI-CEC standard. first you have to know if your TV is HDMI-CEC capable or not?

Different brands for HDMI CEC
There are different trade names for HDMI CEC, search your TV manual, Box and the TV itself for one of the following.

Sony - BRAVIA Link or BRAVIA Sync
Sharp - Aquos Link
Hitachi - HDMI-CEC

Pioneer - Kuro Link
Toshiba - Regza Link or CE-Link

PI as Media Center

Most interesting use case for the PI to use it as a Media center, XBMC is best Media center that you can ever us.

Lucky XBMC runs on PI you can get different releases / builds but my main one is the openelec 

To Install openelec you need the following

Hardware
1. your PI
2. SD card I recommend 2GB, more is OK but not needed

Software
1. openelec image get the latest here
2. Tool to prepare the card MINI Partition Manager
3. Instruction to follow, TasksOfOhm did a good job there to explain it. you have to follow that really to the word, it works good.
